A Great Gatsby Audiobook Review – Learn Why Donald Trump’s Book Makes an Excellent Audiobook
“Great Gatsby” is a fast-paced and enjoyable book by Donald Trump. It’s the third book in The Great Gatsby trilogy, following up on the hit novel The Great Depression. I enjoyed this book just as much as The Great Depression and found myself thinking about what Trump knew going into this book, as well as what he learned along the way.
As the story begins, we learn that there is a huge family secret that was told to Donald Trump when he was a young boy. Donald Trump uses this wealth to maintain his social status, while also using his fortune to amass more wealth – creating the “Gatsby empire”. The family secret is revealed, and everyone except Trump is made aware of the fact. Everyone is upset, except Trump who is happy to keep his friends in the dark.
As the audiobook progresses, we learn more about the nature of the family secret. We get to learn about Donald’s maternal grandparents, and how they met. We also learn about Donald’s real father, as well as his uncles and aunts. Finally, Donald’s aunt and uncle figure out that they are related, and the book goes into full genealogy with the discovery of the true identity of the Great Gatsby. This is an exciting turn of events and one that leaves the reader wondering who knows what.
With the background of the character revealed, the author drags us into the meat of the book – Donald’s life. We learn about the girdle that Trump wore as a child, his various business ventures (warehousing, construction, etc), and how he met and fell in love with finery designer, Mae West. Donald’s business fortunes expand, and he is faced with problems in Miami as well as Atlantic City. The business takes a downturn as a result of bad management. Donald becomes more popular as a result.
As the book nears its end, Donald becomes more popular as a result of his television appearances on such shows as “The Apprentice,” ” Flavor of Love,” “The Late Show,” “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” and “The Bachelor” among many others. This leads to more people being drawn to him, and the author creates suspense with a series of events that culminates with Donald’s marriage to Lisa Kramer. The suspense and surprise will have people reading the book again, and with some predicting a coming fourth book in the series.
