Jay is determined to win the affections of his young friend, but first, he must win the woman of his dreams, Belle. This woman is head over heels in love with Gatsby, but he has no interest in marrying her. He is determined to win her over. When Belle tells her friend, Phoebe whom she has just met that she is in love with Gatsby, she is upset. She tells her friend that they need to leave it up to him to make the choice.
Phoebe realizes that if she doesn’t force Gatsby into making a decision, then she will likely lose him. So, she decides to have a private meeting with him in order to convince him. At the first meeting, Gatsby is taken back by Belle’s beauty and charm. He knows that she is the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with. He decides to give it his all to win her heart.
An audiobook, based on the book, makes this story come alive. It is rich with dialogue and emotion. As a matter of fact, after finishing the audiobook, I felt as though I had been there for the events that took place. It was a moving read and I found myself relating to the book’s characters very well.
If you are looking for a great book, with a twist that you won’t soon forget, then The Great Gatsby is a great book to add to your list. It is fun to read and will get you hooked until the end. The author’s voice is easy to recognize and identify with. If you like what you hear, then you will enjoy this classic tale of the American Dream.
